Woman charged with assaulting cabin crew on flight to Perth

A woman will face court today charged with assaulting a member of the cabin crew on a flight from Canberra to Perth last month.

The 52-year-old woman from the ACT was allegedly behaving erratically towards another passenger as the plane prepared for take-off on December 13.

When a crew member intervened to check on her, the woman allegedly forcefully grabbed their arm and head, which caused minor injuries.

AFP officers boarded the plane when it landed in Perth and escorted the woman, who was allegedly argumentative and aggressive towards them, off the flight.

The woman was charged with assaulting crew of an aircraft and behaving in an offensive and disorderly manner on an aircraft.

The offences each carry a fine of $16,500.

The woman is due to appear in Perth Magistrates Court today.
