Over 200 million litres of extra diesel coming to Australia
Extra diesel fuel is on the way to Australia from Asian suppliers, the prime minister has announced.
Anthony Albanese said BP and Viva had each secured two additional cargoes, with all four adding up to just over 200 million litres.
The purchases were made with the support of Export Finance Australia. The additional supplies will arrive in either the last week of May or the first week of June.

The NRMA says Australia, on average, uses about 93 million litres of diesel a day.
The 200 million litre supply the PM spoke of adds around two and a half day's worth of supply - though as he emphasised, this is "additional" supply on top of what's been contracted.
Two of the extra cargoes were purchased from South Korea, one from Brunei, and one from Malaysia.
"We will continue to use every measure at our disposal to make a difference," Albanese said.
Albanese said the government continued to work with fuel and fertiliser suppliers to secure extra cargoes for Australia.

The national cabinet is set to meet this week, though Albanese would not be drawn on the specific topics that would be discussed.
"It's important that state and territories be informed and it is important that we work together as a nation in what is a very challenging time for the whole world," he said.
Albanese also refused to commit to whether or not the government would extend the current fuel excise cut.
The cut is currently in place until the end of June, and Albanese said the volatility of the ongoing conflict in the Middle East made it impossible to predict at this point whether an extension would be necessary.
"This is a volatile, turbulent period in the world," he said.
