NSW dad almost killed in freak accident involving loose bed base
A father-of-three has been left with catastrophic injuries after he was caught up in a road accident caused by an unsecured load on a trailer.
Wilson Turner, 49, was driving down the Bruxner Highway in northern NSW after dropping his daughter at work on October 17th when his life changed almost instantly, 2GB reports.
A car travelling in the opposite direction had an ensemble bed base in its trailer.

The bed base wasn't secured properly and a gust of wind blew it off the trailer and straight toward a car, driven by a L-plater, behind it.
The L-plater swerved to avoid the debris and collided head-on with Wilson's vehicle at high speed.
"It was that quick," Wilson's brother Lincoln told 2GB host Ben Fordham.
"He was just driving along, going home to have a Friday beer, and out of nowhere this car just went straight into him."
Wilson's car caught fire and he was trapped inside.

Emergency services managed to free Wilson and he was airlifted to the Gold Coast University Hospital.
Lincoln said his brother was in an induced coma for five days and endured eight operations in 12 days as doctors worked to save his life.
Wilson has 25 breaks in his bones, including multiple in his ribs and a crushed ankle.
Wilson now faces a long road to recovery, made more difficult because he is already battling early-onset Parkinson's disease. His daughter, 18-year-old Ehlana, has set up a GoFundMe to help go towards his recovery efforts.
A spokesperson for NSW Police told 2GB the driver of the trailer was uninjured in the accident.
No charges have been laid, however, an investigation is underway.
Police are calling for any witnesses to the accident to come forward.
