Man shot dead in Sydney's west

A man has died after being shot in Sydney's west this morning.
Emergency services were called to a unit block on Newman Street in Merrylands at about 6.40am after a 44-year-old man was found with a gunshot wound.
The man died at the scene.

A crime scene has been established and an investigation has commenced.
