Man dies at side of road in western NSW

Police are refusing to rule out whether a man who died at the side of a road in western NSW may have been hit by a vehicle.

Events began when emergency services were called to Watkins Avenue in the regional city of Griffith just after 4.20am today and found a man suffering multiple injuries.

He died at the scene.

A crime scene has been set up, and a police investigation is underway.

Officers are canvassing the area to confirm the man's identity.
