Man and woman injured following stabbing in Sydney's west

A man has been stabbed, and a woman is injured following a violent attack in Sydney's west overnight.

Police were called to a home on Burnett Street in Merrylands at 10pm yesterday to find a 28-year-old man with stab wounds to his thigh and face, as well as a 21-year-old woman with wounds to her arms.

The pair were taken to Westmead Hospital for further treatment.

Police investigating a crime scene in Sydney's west.

A 24-year-old man has since been arrested over what police believe is a domestic violence incident.

Charges are yet to be laid.
