No. 5 seed Adolfo Daniel Vallejo of Paraguay had seven aces and saved all four break points he faced while holding on for a 6-1, 6-7 (2), 6-4 victory over China's Jie Cui to win his first-round match of the Hangzhou Open on Thursday in China.
No. 8 seed Kamil Majchrzak of Poland also advanced, earning a 6-3, 6-4 victory over Mattia Bellucci of Italy in a tidy 1 hour, 20 minutes.
