According to The Washington Post, simply reposting videos by rabid leftist activists from TikTok merits having your entire private life revealed in one of the world’s most influential newspapers.
Taylor Lorenz, the Post’s internet culture commentator, published a story on Tuesday titled “Meet the woman behind Libs of TikTok, secretly fueling the right’s outrage machine.” The article was a hit piece targeting the popular Twitter account, which was run by an anonymous user.
“Libs of TikTok has become an agenda-setter in right-wing online discourse, and the content it surfaces shows a direct correlation with the recent push in legislation and rhetoric directly targeting the LGBTQ+ community,” Lorenz wrote.
Libs of TikTok takes videos posted on TikTok, a social media platform centered on short videos, and shares them on Twitter. Many of the videos highlighted by the account are from radical leftist educators discussing how they indoctrinate their students into LGBT ideology.
Apparently, for the simple act of publishing unaltered clips of leftists that make them look bad, Chaya Raichik deserved to be doxxed.
The story initially contained a link to Raichik’s real estate license, which contained her private information. After The Washington Post received pushback online, it stealthily edited the article to remove the link.
But despite wishing to remain anonymous, Raichik has now been publicly outed by the paper.
The message is clear: “Stop making us look bad or I’m going to make your life miserable.”
Why was Raichik targeted? Likely because she was so effectively getting out the truth about how radical leftists are trying to brainwash kids.
The left’s newest weapon of calling everything it doesn’t like misinformation doesn’t work when it comes to Libs of TikTok clips showing leftists actually saying extreme things.
When video shows a male teacher in drag dancing for his students, or a man in lipstick saying gender is oppression, or a teacher explaining how she hides LGBT symbols in her classroom from parents, it’s a lot harder to claim it’s conservatives lying about these things.
Libs of TikTok fills a void in reporting that corporate media outlets are intentionally creating. It’s essential we know if a teacher or school district is teaching LGBT ideology in their classrooms.
Of course, schools aren’t the only place that this attempted indoctrination takes place. TikTok itself is a platform dominated by young children. The left puts these videos on TikTok exactly because it’s where young people go to consume media.
Leftists aren’t mad that the videos are being exposed online. They’re mad that the videos are being exposed to the wrong people—namely, the adults on Twitter instead of the kids on TikTok.
Parents’ response to these videos is driving change. As Lorenz notes in her hit piece, the account has already had an impact at the legislative level. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’ press secretary, Christina Pushaw, credited Libs of TikTok with exposing the deep-rooted radicalism in schools in the run-up to the passage of the Parental Rights in Education bill.
As an aside, it’s worth noting that earlier this month, Lorenz appeared in an MSNBC segment decrying harassment and doxxing against women online.
“You feel like any little piece of information that gets out on you will be used by the worst people on the internet to destroy your life,” Lorenz tearfully said. “And it’s so isolating and terrifying.”
But while it is important to highlight the staggering hypocrisy on display here by Lorenz, it’s far more essential to understand the horrific implications this piece has for speech online.
LGBT-obsessed leftists are terrified by the threat that Libs of TikTok represents toward their twisted ends and will stop at nothing to destroy the page. (Who will start the next powerful anonymous Twitter account if he or she knows that doxxing is a virtual certainty?) If we allow that to happen, conservatives will take a major blow in our campaign to stop the left.
To that end, conservatives must take up the model that Libs of TikTok has demonstrated. We can’t let the radical left continue to spread its awful ideas around the web unabated.
It must be exposed.
