A woman has been allegedly stabbed by a colleague while she was working at one of Sydney's top hotels.

The 30-year-old woman was stabbed while working at the Intercontinental on Macquarie Street.

The 30-year-old woman was taken to St Vincent's Hospital with injuries to her face, back and hands.

A 31-year-old woman was arrested at the scene.

The Intercontinental is one of the most luxurious hotels in Sydney.

The five-star hotel has previously hosted luminaries like Princess Diana, Madonna, Elton John and Bill Clinton.
