Add this to the list of unverifiable bombshell reports coming out of Ukraine. According to National Review and Insider, among others, besieged Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky survived an attempted assassination after alleged double agents alerted higher ups, who then deployed countermeasures and “eliminated” the threat.
National Review reported on the situation:
“Oleksiy Danilov, secretary of Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council, said on Ukrainian television on Tuesday that his country received information about a planned assassination attempt on President Volodymyr Zelensky from agents of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation (FSB).
“I can say that we received information from representatives of the FSB, who today have no desire to take part in this bloody war,” said Danilov, who claimed that the Chechen special forces sent to kill Zelensky had been “eliminated.”
“The Kadyrovites’ elite group, which came here specifically to eliminate our president, was directly destroyed,” he said. Kadyrovites refers to a Chechen paramilitary group accused of a number of human-rights violations and abuses. They serve at the pleasure of Razman Kadyrov, the head of the Chechen Republic and a close ally of Vladimir Putin.”
Business Insider added some additional footnotes to the story:
“Per the post, Danilov said Ukraine had “received information” about the plot against Zelensky from people in Russia’s Federal Security Service who “do not want to take part in this bloody war.”
The Federal Security Service, also known as the FSB, is a successor to the KGB.” And thanks to this, I can say that Kadyrov’s elite group was destroyed directly, which came here to eliminate our president,” Danilov said.
An assassination on Ukraine’s steadfast leader would no doubt send shockwaves throughtout the tehater. He has been a face of fierce national resilience and provided the undaunted courage in the face of a do-or-die conflict.”
As with all stories emanating from Eastern Europe, it is almost impossible for Western media to siphon the truth from the falsehoods. If ever a time existed to name misinformation, disinformation, and misinformation as such, this is it.
It is very possible that an assasination of Zelensky would be on the table. As of this writing, he is apparently staving off attacks from the much larger and stronger aggressor nation. Moreover, The Daily Wire claimed that the European Union was looking to fasttrack Ukraine’s admission into its membership. While not a NATO relationship, Russian President Vladimir Putin can’t possibly like the idea of an economically bolstered Ukraine. Given everything going on – and everything possible to be gained – by cutting off the nominal head of Ukraine’s stoic defense, the story holds water on merit alone.
On the other hand, this could easily be seen as false news. Ukraine gets to make Russia look bad by saying they were going to assassinate their leader. That certainly adds to the distrust and hatred for Putin around the glove. And, by making the claims that Russian double agents sold out Russia, it makes their army look fractured and unwilling to fight, whereas Ukraine’s is unified and emboldened.
Notable in the endless war-time propaganda and exaggerated media coverage was the account of the Heroes of Snake Island, who were first considered martyrs for Ukrainian independence, telling Russians to “go f*** yourself” before clarification was provided that not only were thirteen soldiers not defiant until the very end, but they weren’t even thirteen in count. So, rather than thirteen dead Ukrainians it turns out there were 87 captured Ukrainians.
