Sam Walker has been cleared to play for the Roosters, but the news is less positive for Lindsay Collins and Sandon Smith.

Mini injury crisis hits Roosters as Origin gun goes down

It's a good news, bad news scenario for the Sydney Roosters, with star halfback Sam Walker cleared of a concussion but a number of other players in doubt for round four.

The 21-year-old left the field in Friday night's massive win over the Rabbitohs and was initially deemed to be suffering category one symptoms by the independent doctor.

However, the club has now confirmed Walker passed his HIA and has been downgraded to category two, which will see him line up against Penrith on Thursday.

The outlook isn't as positive for Lindsay Collins however, with the towering front-rower suffering a low grade hamstring strain and will now begin a rehab process.

Collins is expected to miss at least a week for the Chooks, which could see Terrell May start at prop alongside Jared Waerea-Hargreaves.

At this stage, the Maroons representative is likely to miss at least a fortnight.https://twitter.com/nrlphysio/status/1772099545000034697?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw

Sandon Smith is another casualty for the Roosters, with the young five-eighth sustaining a 'significant medial ligament injury' to his elbow.

The young gun played the entire 80 minutes against the Bunnies, despite the initial hyperextension occurring before half-time, with the club unable to reveal a clear return date for the Central Coast product.

A potential backline shuffle may be an issue for Trent Robinson however, with centre Billy Smith set to undergo minor ankle surgery after picking up an injury in NSW Cup.

The 24-year-old hasn't featured in the top grade across the opening three rounds, but remains in the mix for a spot in the star-studded Roosters backline.

Elsewhere, Luke Keary remains on the comeback trail from his latest concussion, with his 11-day stand-down coming to an end on the same day the Roosters take on the reigning premiers at Allianz Stadium.

Robinson will name his 22-man squad for the blockbuster showdown on Tuesday.
