'Career coach' Walters makes NRL ambitions clear
Kevin Walters has explained the Kangaroos' lacklustre performances in attack and signalled his intent to coach the side at the World Cup after an Ashes clean sweep.
Australia was way too good for England in the rugby league Ashes, winning all three matches comfortably.
But the cohesion of the side came under the pump following every match, with the Kangaroos not completing over 70 per cent of sets in either game.

England beat them when it came to completions but its attack couldn't bring many points.
Walters was more in the mood to credit his defence when interviewed on his return to Australia.
"We scored enough points to win the series, that's what we're about," he said.
"The big focus was our defence, which I'm really pleased about. The attacking side of football is the easy part, defence is the tough one, you've got to get good connection."
The former Broncos head coach will now hope he's convinced ARLC chair Peter V'landys and NRL chief executive Andrew Abdo that he's done a good enough job to lead the Kangaroos to a home World Cup.
"Obviously the World Cup's on next year so I'd like to be part of that, here in Australia especially in front of our crowds and our people," he said.
"That's something I would very much look forward to."
Walters' Kangaroos job was his first coaching role since he was sacked by the Broncos.
Brisbane then went on to win the premiership under Michael Maguire.
The 58-year-old was steadfast in his intention to return to the NRL one day.
"I never lost the passion for coaching to be honest," he said.
"It's always something in there, you're either a career coach or you're not, I'm in that career coach category.
"I am a career coach and one day I want to get back in the NRL."
