Bennett's wily response over Rabbitohs' halves conundrum
It didn't take long for the Rabbitohs coach's dry humour to make a return this season after a win over his old team.

When Lewis Dodd was signed on a rich contract for the Rabbitohs during the 2024 season, it appeared he was certain to be the South Sydney halfback.
With Dodd on the books along with Jamie Humphreys, Lachlan Ilias was off to the Dragons as a result.
A suspension to Dodd in the trials meant Humphreys had first crack at the jersey and he was one of South Sydney's best against the Dolphins.

The halfback finished the match with a whopping 18 kicks of 714 metres and complemented Cody Walker and Jye Gray with aplomb in the 16-14 win on Friday night.
Dodd will be available for the Rabbitohs' match against the Dragons next week, but Bennett was his usual self when asked who will be halfback.
"You'll have to read the papers on Tuesday," he quipped during his post-match press conference.
Prior to that, the Rabbitohs coach was full of praise for his recruit.
"I thought he was pretty good, he laid on a try there late in the game, he had to do a bit of work but he got the ball at the right time and the pass was great," he said.
"He's another guy (that's) only going to get better. We've got 50 per cent of that team that's only going to get better because they haven't played for so long."
